When a university job interview goes south, Carrie Wade isn’t certain that she’ll ever find work in her field of ancient Native American Culture. When she tries on the precious necklace at home, she passes out and wakes up in the tent of the necklace’s original owners, three Native American tribesmen from the late 1600s. Will she be able to get back home to the future or will she find out that the one place she was always meant to be was back in time as the tribe’s bride?

This is about time travel and love. Carrie lived in the future with no family and knowledge of the past that couldn't get her a job. When she found a necklace in an antique store of the Indians she studied about It just called to her and she knew she had to have it. It was more than she could afford but she was drawn to it. She didn't put it on right away, but when she did it took her into the past where she was met by three men. She wasn't happy at first but soon learned this is where she was meant to be. She now had three husbands and soon they had others who had been cast out for being different. It's a warm hearted story of love and trials and getting though together. I chose this rating because it was very well written and because it was very interesting. I didn't like that she didn't bring any of her knowledge of the future in to help them like cave dwelling to a permanent home. Maybe she didn't think like I do but it was still a good story. I'm not a usual reader of mulitple couple romances, but i must admit that R.E. Butler is a great writer. The Tribe's Bride was a great read simply because of the charactors. Each of the brothers (with the herione included make the Tribe) are sweet, caring and yet bad asses in their own ways. The story was good, and the charactors awesome. Granted, its not a long read, but it was totally worth the .99 cents and than some. I'd recommend this book to anybody!
Good story line and a good read. Knowing this was a short story events moved quickly and the ending was rushed. You got to know the characters in a abbreviated manner. Some of the events were definitely unlikely especially during this time but it was nice sentiment. It was a love story so anything goes in love and war. It kept my interest throughout this book. It was more than a love triangle with four players one woman and four men. They had children and lived happily ever after.
I really liked this storyline. R.E. butler really knows how to weave a tale and capture the reader.
This may sound like a far out there story line yet it really works and keeps your attention till the last page. I am very much looking out for the continuation of this series and also other work by her. Her writing style is very smooth and flowed very easily. I read the pages without realizing that pages had gone by . As in all good romances, their is a happy ending and I can't wait to read further works by this author.
This is a stand alone novel. The heroine finds a necklace, puts it on, and then ends up in the past when three brothers. The brothers have left their tribe because one of the brothers wanted taboo sex. One man on his own could not survive, but three together can. This is a time travel novel, but it is not so out there that it irritated me. Good story.
I love the idea of this story and the time travel set up. The threeway relationship is interesting, I like the character interaction, and pacing. The sex is good in fact I really only wish there was more of it in the story. However the historical accuracy of the book was very bad. The brothers owning horses but having no idea about white peoples was about as ridiculous as her being able to speak the specific language of a tribe that had died out in the 1600s. There are multitudes of other glaringly historic inaccurate details that could have been found out with a simple Internet search. That being said I only find it so annoying because I studied Native American Anthropology at University. If things like this don't bother you by all means give the story a try.
I REALLY, REALLY, liked this story. I think it is really more a 4.5 story, but again we don't get that option.
It's hard to not like this story. The story line is one of menage, but it is a step up from most of that particular gene's offering.
Usually, I find that menage stories make me feel a bit naughty and sometimes a little squimish about reading them. This one, however, was so beatifully written and with such love and respect for Carrie, The Precious Sun, that I felt completely content and happy to be previledge to be sharing it with her. All of the love scenes felt natural and unsullied by the usual smut factor.
I, also, thought it was a novel and new idea for a story plot and one that I could really get into. I sincerely enjoyed every minute of it and I think that others will too.
I didn't expect to like this book, but it was very good. For a short story, it covered the story very well and had fairly well developed characters. Writing was pretty good too.
Story Carrie has a love for Native American linguistics and history, particularly a particular tribe. After a job interview tanks, she stumbles upon a antique story and buys an ancient necklace from the tribe she studied in school. When she tries it on days later, she transported back in time to meet banished brothers Coyote, Bear, and Hawk. They've brought her back in time via the necklace and want her to be their shared bride.
Seriously, loved this book more than I thought I would. Like I said initially, great characters with developed back stories, decent storyline, and hot sex. This was a book I went into with low expectations that ended up surprising me in a good way. I'll have to check out more by this writer. 4.5 out of 5 rounded because it ended up being great.
