Loved this book !!!!!!!, Laurie is an amazing Author could not put this book down once I begin reading it.
For anyone its a great book to relax and enjoy her journey. Loved the humor, but yet the reality of the book hit home. I to can relate to the ups and downs the promises that never came true. Good Job Laurie cant wait till the next book.

This is truly an entertaining and eye opening novel about ways in which we can deal with love and heartache. The book does a wonderful job of exploring the myriad of emotions you feel when you find love and after the love is lost. Golden takes a very light-hearted and humorous tone in her writing yet still manages to openly share all her joys and disappointments in her life.

As I read Shelf Life of a Valentine I felt engulfed in the emotional journey of Laurie Golden's heart from "glorious romance" to the shattering of dreams to her solitary confinement and the denigrating denial of her needs. This engaging book of poetry and prose is a tribute to the resilience of a woman's spirit and the courage she musters to leave her destructive 20 year marriage and with hope, humor and a new perspective to recharge her life.Her 'wish to be a woman in a Chagall painting floating in the air, dreaming of flowers, magic moments and beaming" is the essence of her being and sustains her in the healing process. I enjoyed her bold imagery which was poignant, hilarious and out and out spunky. I am looking forward to her new adventures in her next book.
This little book captures so many of the emotions and thoughts that all women experience along the road of life. All of us can relate to this tale and see glimpses of ourselves. Not only is the book thought provoking, but you find yourself routing for the author through her ups and downs. The imagery and juxtapositioning of thoughts is unique and condenses entire fields of emotions in a few words. Miss Golden jumps from one thought to the next like a trapeze artist flying through the air caught at the last minute by an invisible hand. A must read. A little book to be savored. I hope the shelf life of this little gem is very long so many women have the opportunity to read it.

This is a terrific read....for male or female...It gets right to where life is when the shelf life of a relationship does not have the "right date" anymore...Hope this author does more...I am sure her talent is going to be recognized ! As an avid reader, and a person who has experienced a lot of what is in this book...I must say it was presented eloquently!! A great book for anyone..Whether you have been on "the shelf" or not!!
